Generally in Parquet form, Douglas Fir is found in its highest grade which is fine and straight grained. Imported in quantity during the 1920’s and 30’s and used during that significant building program, it displays a warm sandy colour. Often mistaken for Pitch Pine it tends to be found in common architectural dimensions, as opposed to the earlier Victorian material.
Wonderfully suitable for any period restoration or commercial application.
