American White Oak

Imported in huge quantities during the 1920’s and 30’s and machined originally to standard sizes, this is a constant requirement for restoration work or complete installations. Being tongue and grooved it is fixed via secret nailing, leaving no fixing marks on the surface. Frederick Love who designed and built the famous ‘ Love ‘ houses in 1936 in the Chislehurst area used this material in all of his designs.

A hugely practical traditional architectural floor of the period.
